Moved by the earth

We want to improve the quality of soil because we believe it will enhance our agricultural resilience to future economic and climate crises. We believe that improving soil health and reducing the use of pesticides and fertilizers can increase the profitability of farms and help manage the risks related to climate change.

The Englobe Expertise

One way around this conundrum is the use of alternative materials to enrich, fertilize or lime soils intended for agriculture. As a recognized pioneer in developing and managing innovative fertilizing residual materials (FRMs), the Englobe team has collaborated with producers for over 35 years. Whether our clients use fertilizing and liming products - including paper mill, municipal and agri-food biosolids - or ash, compost, and calcium amendments, our team acts as trusted partners to help them make the right decisions for their operations.

Our team also delivers real value by advising producers on how to make the most of these products - from choosing the right materials to monitoring applications and reporting on activities. We also help our producer clients comply with all agronomic and environmental standards and best practices.

By providing alternative products with clear benefits, the Englobe team helps producers improve soil health, increase crop yields and ultimately, make their operations more resilient. We also help support the implementation of regenerative agricultural practices like crop rotation and wildlife habitat creation, which promote biodiversity and protect animal and natural species.

Fields of Expertise

The agricultural recycling of fertilizing and liming products breathes new life into these materials, which have proven agronomic, technical, and environmental potential.

Our expertise in this area means we can deliver high-quality, sustainable, responsibly-produced, and cost-effective fertilizing and liming products that are fully traceable – from pick-up to drop-off.

Our skilled, experienced Englobe agronomists will help you:

Amend: An amendment is a material added to soil to improve its agricultural quality. Amendments are used to enhance soil properties and make it more productive.

Fertilize: Fertilizers mainly serve to boost the soil’s nutrient supply, making a greater quantity of nutrients available to plants as they grow.

Lime: Liming is an essential practice for improving soil life and increasing input effectiveness and crop yields. Regularly adding lime to soil improves soil structure, enhances the effectiveness of nutrients, and boosts atmospheric nitrogen’s ability to adhere to certain crops (legumes in particular). They also enhance plants’ rooting ability.
