Englobe announces the acquisition of Ottawa-based GWAL
This transaction augments Englobe Ontario’s professional expertise and services to the public sector.
Montréal, Québec, October 2, 2024 – Englobe Corporation (Englobe), a leading engineering and environmental services firm with a well-established presence across Canada, announces the acquisition of Goodkey, Weedmark & Associates Ltd. (GWAL), an Ottawa-based, employee-owned consulting firm specializing in mechanical and electrical engineering. Following the successful close of this transaction, all 100 GWAL employees and leaders will join the Englobe family.
Adding highly reputed client services and expertise
Founded in 1956, the firm has a stellar local reputation for outstanding innovation and service quality within the National Capital Region and Ottawa Valley. GWAL’s team of skilled, expert engineering professionals will augment the ranks of Englobe’s Ontario team, and its longstanding relationships with private and public sector clients – including the federal and provincial governments – will further enhance Englobe’s reach and reputation within these market sectors.
We’re very pleased to welcome GWAL's team of experienced professionals to the Englobe family. Their commitment to transparent communication, responsiveness, and service excellence, along with a close cultural fit, makes them a perfect addition to our Ontario team. We’re excited to collaborate with GWAL to expand our joint market presence in the National Capital Region and beyond, and to offer additional professional growth and collaboration opportunities for our newly combined team.
notes Englobe President Mike Cormier.
This transaction represents a major milestone in our company’s history, as it will help us expand our reach from local to national. Our team is delighted to join this highly reputed Canadian firm whose client approach and genuine caring for its people, communities and clients closely reflect our own values.
states Frank Bann, P.Eng., Managing Principal at GWAL.
Today’s announcement represents Englobe’s first such transaction since the company was itself acquired by Colliers, a global diversified professional services and investment management company, in July 2024. Englobe is thus making good on its ongoing commitment to facilitate Colliers’ entry and expansion into the Canadian engineering and design market through thoughtful acquisitions.
